SEO Essentials has kept the fundamentals healthy and PRCA’s brand visibility strong. There is clear room to improve.

Families who search for Pusch Ridge by name find it at the top of Google, the site is technically sound, and the number of keywords PRCA ranks for is growing. The gap is everything beyond the school’s own name: search clicks are below last year, and families who are still deciding where to enroll are not yet finding PRCA, or the individual campuses, as often as they could.

Healthy fundamentals

  • Secure HTTPS site, self-referencing canonical tags and no accidental “noindex” on any reviewed page.
  • Title tags present and descriptive on every page reviewed, none left as a default such as “Home”.
  • Mobile-ready, server-rendered pages, and a Google Business Profile for each of the three campuses.

Brand visibility is strong

  • 42,213 search clicks in the last 12 full months, steady at roughly 3,200–4,400 a month during the school year.
  • “Pusch Ridge Christian Academy” ranks at an average position of 1.1; Lions Den login terms hold positions 2–5.
  • Average position across all searches improved from 8.3 (Oct 2025) to 5.2 (Sep 2026).

Where there is room to improve

  • Clicks are 19% below last summer and 36% below the same days last October.
  • Searches that do not include the school’s name bring only 25–49 clicks a month, flat for 15 months.
  • Middle School and Grammar Campus pages are barely visible for the searches families use when comparing schools.
The click trend, plainly. July through September 2026 produced 9,706 search clicks against 11,926 in the same months of 2025 (−19%), and October 1–17 is at 1,421 against 2,237 (−36%). Google’s September 2025 reporting change (explained below) affects impressions and average position, not clicks, so this decline is real. Our read is that competing schools are being more aggressive in SEO than PRCA has been under the current Essentials scope. Where PRCA shows up at positions 7–10 for “private schools Tucson” style searches, several other schools sit above it. Essentials is designed to keep the foundation healthy and report on it; competing for new ground is what the upgrade options below are for.

Search clicks by month

Clicks are people who clicked through from Google to the site. They are the most reliable measure in this report.

16.4%click-through rate, Sep 2026 (18.6% in Oct 2025)

The shape of the year is healthy: a summer dip in June (1,843 clicks), recovery to 3,943 in August, and a consistent school-year baseline. What changed is the level. Each month since September has delivered fewer clicks than the same month a year earlier, and the click-through rate has eased from 18.6% to 16.4% over the same period.

Reading the numbers: Google’s September 2025 reporting change

Impressions and average position moved sharply in September 2025. That movement comes from how Google reports data, not from anything PRCA did.

What happened

Around September 10–14, 2025, Google stopped honoring the &num=100 search setting, which let a single request load 100 results at once instead of 10. SEO tools and automated rank trackers had used it for years, and every deep page they loaded was counted as an impression in Search Console, even though no person saw it. Once Google ended it, those automated impressions disappeared. A Google spokesperson said the parameter was not something it formally supports.

Industry analysis found it widespread: one study of 319 websites found 87.7% lost impressions, mostly on desktop, while clicks were unaffected.

What it means for PRCA’s numbers

  • Impressions fell and average position improved at the same moment. Neither is a reliable before-and-after comparison across September 2025.
  • Clicks are not affected by the change. They record real visits, so they are the cleanest measure of performance.
  • Click-through rate rose partly because the impression count shrank. Compare it only from October 2025 forward.
  • This is why the click decline in this report is a real trend and is not blamed on the reporting change.

PRCA’s own data shows the break on the expected date

Weekly impressions. The step down lines up with the week Google made the change (marked).

Weekly average position (lower is better)

Average position moved from the 20s–30s to single digits in the same week, because the deep-page automated impressions that dragged the average down were removed.

Campus-by-campus scorecard

Each campus is measured through its page on prca.academy: clicks over the full 16 months, the July–September change against last year, and impressions, CTR and position since Google’s September 2025 reporting change. The Upper Campus houses the Middle School and High School, so both pages are shown. Pages with little search activity are presented as opportunity: they are starting from open ground.

South Campus (DLI)

Strongest campus

Serves 150+ students; adding an English Track for 2027–2028 alongside Dual Language Immersion. 393 clicks and 15,608 impressions in the last 90 days (2.5% CTR, position 3.6).

4.6avg position since Sep 16, 2025
Monthly clicks, Jun 2025 – Oct 2026

Verdict. The only campus page with a real search footprint: 110–200 clicks every month, Jul–Sep clicks up 2% year over year while the site as a whole is down 19%, and position improving to 3.1. Almost all of it is people searching for the school by name, so the next step is winning families who are searching for Christian or bilingual schools in south Tucson, ahead of the English Track launch.

Verdict. The fastest-growing campus page: Jul–Sep clicks more than doubled (26 to 58) and September 2026 was the best month on record (26 clicks). Visibility is still name-based; generic searches such as “Christian elementary school Tucson” do not yet surface this page, which is the opportunity.

Verdict. The page earns only 83 clicks in 16 months and sits behind the high school and the homepage for even the school’s own name. That is open ground rather than a decline: a page built for “Christian middle school Tucson” and related searches would be starting from near zero.

Verdict. The most-viewed Upper Campus page, reached almost entirely through name searches (112 of 136 query clicks come from the school’s name). Jul–Sep clicks are 29% below last year, in line with the wider click trend. CTR of 1.4% on that many impressions at position 2.5 is a clear snippet-rewrite opportunity.

Verdict. Small today (80 clicks in 16 months) with a clear seasonal pattern: clicks peak February to April. People are already searching “acsto” and ranking PRCA around position 7.6 for it (138 impressions, no clicks). Preparing these pages before the next season is a low-cost, well-timed upgrade.

Takeaway. Every campus is found when someone searches for Pusch Ridge by name, and South Campus and Grammar Campus are growing. No campus page yet competes for the searches families use before they know the school’s name, such as “Christian schools Tucson” or “bilingual school Tucson”. That is where the next stage of growth sits.

Brand versus non-brand search

Brand searches name the school, PRCA or Lions Den. Non-brand searches are everything else, for example “private schools Tucson”. Search Console hides rare queries, so these query-level figures sit below site totals.

Brand query clicks by month

Brand searches drive about 99% of query clicks (6,345 of 6,425 in the last 90 days).

01,0002,0003,0004,000JunAugOctDecFebAprJunAugOct

Non-brand query clicks by month

Between 25 and 49 clicks a month, with no sustained growth across 15 months. Note the different scale.

Ranking breadth is expanding and more terms are reaching the very top. Semrush’s own traffic estimate moved from 7,367 to 6,279 a month over the same year, which is consistent with the softer click trend in Search Console and underlines that keyword growth has not yet turned into more visits.

What SEO Essentials covers and delivers

Essentials is a health-check and reporting service. It keeps the basics in place and tells you how search is performing. It is not an in-depth testing or improvement program.

  • Ongoing health-check monitoring of core technical signals.
  • Regular performance reporting from Search Console and Semrush, including this review.

What the health check confirms today

  • Healthy Title tags present and descriptive on all 19 pages reviewed.
  • Healthy HTTPS across the site and a clean redirect from http.
  • Healthy Self-referencing canonical tags, no “noindex”, mobile viewport on every page.

22,861 impressions at position 2.8 but a 0.6% CTR (141 clicks, 90 days). Each additional point of CTR is roughly 230 more clicks per 90 days. The page already has a title and description, so Essentials is satisfied. Testing and rewriting them for clicks is upgrade work.

Structured data for each of the three campuses, aligned with their Google Business Profiles.
Today’s structured data uses generic school types and different campus names than the Business Profiles; South Campus is not described, and there are no coordinates or hours.Schema is beyond Essentials. It feeds local results and AI answers.
P2AI-search readiness (AEO)
FAQ content, question-style headings and FAQ markup so assistants can quote PRCA accurately.
The FAQ and Who We Are pages already have strong question-and-answer content to build on. The FAQ page earns 1,626 impressions at position 7.8.Answer-engine optimization is a full-SEO service.

Next steps

A suggested 90-day path if PRCA moves from Essentials to full SEO.

  1. Days 1–30: Foundation

Set up campus-level rank tracking, rewrite the Admissions, High School and Athletics snippets, and begin the campus schema build-out.

  2. Days 31–60: Campus content

Publish research-led content for the Middle School and Grammar Campus pages, and launch South Campus English Track search targeting.

  3. Days 61–90: AI search and giving

Roll out FAQ and answer-ready content, prepare tax-credit pages ahead of the February–April peak, and tidy the sitemap, H1 and alt text.

  4. Every month: Scorecard

The campus scorecard above, refreshed with clicks, position and top queries, so progress is visible by campus.

Let’s turn a strong foundation into growth

Essentials will keep PRCA’s fundamentals healthy and the reports coming. To compete for families who do not yet know the school’s name, we recommend moving to a full SEO program, starting with the P1 items above, and adding AI-search readiness while the Middle School, Grammar Campus and South Campus English Track pages are being built.
